10 Nansha companies make Guangzhou unicorn list

Ten Nansha companies including Pony.ai, Cloudwalk and Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology have been included in the Guangzhou unicorn and unicorn-to-be company list, local media outlets reported on Oct 15.

Unicorns refer to enterprises that have a market value of at least $1 billion before going public. A Unicorn-to-be refers to enterprises that have a market value from $100 million to $1 billion. 

The selection has gained guidance from the Guangzhou municipal science and technology bureau, and covers companies in the city managing areas spanning formation technology, artificial intelligence and biomedicine.

A total of 16 unicorn companies have been selected and two of them, namely Pony.ai and Cloudwalk, which are two famous AI companies in Nansha district, made the list. 

Seven Nansha companies such as Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology and Guangzhou Chali Group were listed on the Guangzhou unicorn-to-be innovative company list together with the other 56 companies.
