Mingzhu modern urban agricultural experimental park in Guangzhou's Nansha district has been a pioneer in leading the high-quality development of modern urban agriculture in the district, Guangzhou Daily reported on Oct 9.
Construction for the park started in early 2020 with a cost of over 4 billion yuan ($620 million). The park, covering a total area of around 10,300 mu (687 hectares), has been designed to become an experimental field featuring modern agricultural technology, a cluster for leading agricultural enterprises, and a pastoral leisure area in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The park has now built six major functional areas such as the green axis, the experimental base for smart fishery and a cultural tourism town to make innovations in the operation and management mode of the park and to help Nansha build an example of the modern countryside in the Greater Bay Area.
The digital fishery project in the park, which covers a total area of about 508 mu with an investment of 32.52 million yuan, has adapted the concept of sustainable development as well as advanced intelligent technologies
"Once operational, the smart fishery project can be managed by as little as three people," a staff member from the park said.
