Nansha sees tourism boom during Golden Week

A total of 780,600 tourists visited major scenic areas in Nansha during the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7 with a year-on-year increase of 22.17 percent, local media outlets reported on Oct 8.

Various events featuring arts, traditional culture and innovation were staged during the holiday to entertain locals and visitors with cultural elements.

During the seven-day holiday, Nansha buses finished a total of 31,466 trips, transporting 408,000 passengers. Among them, the total number of buses running between Wanqingsha Station and local tourist attractions such as the Nansha Wetland Park was 2,002, transporting around 84,000 passengers.

The occupancy rate of Nansha hotels during the National Day holiday was 62.16 percent while the figure for Shi'ao Inn stood at 85.37 percent.

During the National Day holiday, the visitors flow rate in Nansha's major business circles exceeded 800,000 with a total revenue of over 50 million yuan ($7.76 million), an increase of about 85 percent year on year.
