Nansha Tianhou Palace will hold Guangzhou's first coastal music festival during the upcoming National Day holiday, officials announced during a press conference held on Sept 25.

Apart from the music festival, a series of activities such as light shows, intangible cultural heritages performances, drone shows and delicacy markets will be available to visitors.

During the holiday, the palace will be opened from 7 pm to 10:30 pm for the first time, staging events such as a promotion fair for local specialties and cultural creative products.

The music festival and the open bar street on the beach will be available at the beach square of Tianhou Palace for the whole seven-day holiday.

The drone show on the sea will be held at 10 pm on Oct 1 and 3.

"In Nansha, we not only enjoy the natural scenery, but also appreciate the charms of modern urban environment," said Duan Dehai, head of Nansha's publicity department.

Nansha has a beautiful ecological environment and unique tourism resources such as the Tianhou temple and Lingnan traditional river villages. It has been dubbed the happiest city in China and won the gold award for the world's most livable city, which was selected by the UN.

Duan added that Nansha will take an active part in participating in the cultural tourism development and cooperation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and strive to turn Nansha into an international destination for cultural tourism.
