Nansha unveils plaque for rural rejuvenation bureau

The Nansha rural rejuvenation bureau was established on Aug 30, which marked a shift of rural work focus from poverty alleviation to countryside revitalization.

The new bureau will be committed to consolidating the progress in poverty alleviation and further revitalizing the rural areas in industries, talents, ecology and political organization.

Meanwhile, it will strive to address the livelihood issues related to employment, education, social insurance, medical treatment, elderly and child care, and housing which concern residents most.

The total agriculture output value of Nansha hit a record high of 11.17 billion yuan ($1.73 billion) in 2020. Construction of 20 projects in Nansha Modern Fishery Industrial Park has been completed, which will generate an output value of 820 million yuan this year.

In addition, the district helped Longli, Guiding and Huishui counties in Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture break out of poverty in 2019, and assisted 3,919 people in 1,467 households in 35 counties in Guangdong province to shake off poverty last year.
