Innovation, entrepreneurship base to lure more medical talents

An innovation and entrepreneurship base for doctors and postdocs unveiled its plaque at the Nansha branch of Guangdong Medical Valley on Aug 19.

A strategic cooperation contract was also signed during the ceremony to turn the Nansha branch of Guangdong Medical Valley into a regional innovation and entrepreneurship base led by high-caliber talents including doctors and postdocs.

"The Nansha branch now has attracted more than 300 biomedical companies to settle down and the big health industry has posed a strong demand for high-caliber talents. We are now in shortage of around 400 high-caliber talents," said Xie Jiasheng, executive president of Guangdong Medical Valley.

Feng Jie, deputy director of Nansha science and technology bureau, said that Nansha has released a host of preferential policies to offer support in areas spanning the construction of high-end innovation platforms, the transfer and transformation of scientific outcomes as well as the attraction of high-caliber talents, which will contribute to the establishment of the global leading scientific atmosphere in Nansha.
