The first phase of Denso's new factory in South China, which is located in Guangzhou's Nansha district, has been put into operation recently, local media outlets reported on July 12.

The first phase of the project covers a total area of 80 mu (5 hectares) and the overall area of the project will reach 150,000 square meters after construction is finalized.

It is expected that the output of Denso's both new and previous factories, which are close to each other, will reach 10 billion yuan ($1.55 billion) by 2025.

The new factory, mainly manufacturing core automotive parts and carrying out quality tests, is an important production base for Denso in the South China area.

Denso was set up in Japan in 1949 and has now developed into a global supplier for advanced automotive technologies, systems and parts. It ranked 247th according to the Fortune Global 500 rankings released in 2021.
