The main structure of the First Affiliated (Nansha) Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou's Nansha district has been finished following a three-year construction period, and is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of the year, local media outlets reported on June 29.
The hospital, located to the west of Pearl Bay in Nansha's Hengli town, covers a total floorage of 510,000 square meters and will be able to provide 1,500 patient beds.
When it opens, the hospital will be an international medical center, the treatment center for public health disasters in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and a medical research and outcomes transfer center.
It will set up 38 clinical departments, with 28 of them being national key clinical specialties, providing high-quality medical services for patients.
A standard helipad will be set up on the hospital to add another rescue channel.
