The Nansha branch of Zhixin High School is scheduled to go into operation before the new semester in September, Guangzhou Daily reported on June 25.

"We overcame the difficulties created by the COVID-19 pandemic and finished overall construction in June," said Zeng Zheng, an official from the Nansha construction center. "Work on campus intelligent systems and air conditioning installation has also been moving forward."

Located on Jingang Avenue in Guangzhou's Nansha district, the public school offers a nine-year compulsory education. Covering a total area of around 83.5 mu (5.6 hectares) and a total floorage of 54,582 square meters, the school will feature 54 classes, with 18 of them for middle school students.

Construction work is set to speed up the process of turning Nansha into a pilot zone for modern education and further boost the high-quality and balanced development of local education resources.
