The permanent site of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Science Forum is set to be located in Guangzhou's Nansha district, local media outlets reported on March 30.

Situated in the western part of Lingshan Island in the Pearl Bay, the site will cover a total area of around 50,000 square meters. It will contain a conference center, an exhibition center and hotels.

It also enjoys convenient transportation, which is important for the communication and exchange of high-end talents. The site is 10 kilometers away from Nansha transportation hub, 12 km from Qingsheng hub and 32 km from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Science Forum, hosted by the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) in the Belt and Road region, is set to bring more opportunities for Nansha while exploring more development prospects for countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

ANSO, launched by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), is the first comprehensive and substantial international science organization under the BRI formed by local science academies, scientific research institutes, universities and international organizations.

The site is opposite the permanent site of the International Finance Forum and is only about 4.5 km away from the first phase of CAS's Mingzhu Science Park. It is expected that the science forum site will be an important channel for promoting local scientific exchanges and a major showcase for local achievements, pushing forward the integrated development of science and finance.
