Nansha hospital of Sun Yat-sen University set to open

The First Affiliated (Nansha) Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou's Nansha district is scheduled to open its doors on July 1, 2021, Guangzhou Daily reported on Feb 24.

The project's "curtain walls" are now under construction.

The hospital, located to the west of Pearl Bay in Nansha's Hengli town, is situated within the central hub area of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. 

The unique geographic location of the hospital allows people in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao to all reach the hospital within 30 minutes.

The hospital has been designed to serve as a high-level 3A-grade comprehensive hospital in the Greater Bay Area - the highest level in China's three-tier grading system for public hospitals - as well as a global medical center.

The hospital, occupying a ground site of 156,000 square meters and with a total floor space of 506,000 sq m, will be able to provide 1,500 patient beds.

Advanced medical systems such as a logistics system, the "medicalpure" water system and a completed medical gas supply system will be available in the hospital.
