Tourist attractions in Guangzhou's Nansha district, such as the Binhai Park and Tianhou Palace, have attracted a host of visitors during the Spring Festival holiday.

Trees in Binhai Park were decorated with a lot of red lanterns to add a more festive mood and visitors were able to rent bicycles to tour around the park, have picnics on the grass or wander around the innovative markets to find interesting goods.

"I'm from downtown Guangzhou. I found Nansha very lively, with red lanterns being hung everywhere," said a visitor surnamed Chen.

Machines that can quickly measure visitors' body temperatures were set up at the entrance of Tianhou Palace for the purpose of COVID-19 prevention and control. Intelligent robots that can write "fu" - the Chinese character for good luck - were also available for use, as well as robots making marshmallow.

Performances featuring local traditional culture such as Huangge Kylin dance and lion dance were staged in the Tianhou Palace square to amuse visitors.
