The CAS Space Exploration industrialization base in Guangzhou's Nansha district started construction on Jan 26, and is expected to be put into trial operation in August 2022.
The base will be used for various functions including research, development, manufacturing, experiments, final assembly and testing of aerospace vehicles. It will be the first commercial aerospace industrial park in China.
Located in the Dagang Advanced Manufacturing Base, the base will cover an overall area of 100 mu (6.67 hectares) with an overall investment of around 390 million yuan ($60.38 million).
The base has been designed to produce 30 aerospace vehicles a year, boosting the cluster of upstream and downstream industries around the R&D of aerospace power in the district. It is expected that Guangzhou will be built into the third "pole" of China's aerospace industry.
A tour route will be designed at the base, passing important facilities such as the data processing center and the pulsating production line, in order to develop industrial tourism. The base will thus be built into a regional patriotism education base on aerospace.
