The regional gross domestic product of Guangzhou's Nansha district is estimated to have exceeded 180 billion yuan ($27.86 billion) in 2020, officials announced during a working conference held on Jan 26.
With the corresponding figure from 2019 standing at 168.32 billion yuan, the growth rate of Nansha's GDP has been calculated as 7 percent.
Nansha's fixed investments in 2020 increased by 22.2 percent year-on-year, while the total output value of industries above designated scale reached 284.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent.
The district welcomed 25 projects invested in by Fortune Global 500 companies, as well as 49,000 newly-registered companies.
The growth rate of Nansha's general public budget revenue, tax revenue and overall import and export volume ranked top in Guangzhou. Its general public budget revenue grew by 7.5 percent year-on-year to 9 billion yuan, its tax revenue increased by 10.2 percent to 45.03 billion yuan, and its overall import and export volume climbed by 6 percent to 226.5 billion yuan.
