Guangzhou's Nansha district has made full use of the water and natural resources of Lingshan Island area to build an ecological corridor, making an excellent relaxation area for local residents.
By the end of December 2020, a total of 12 vending machines had been put into operation along the corridor, as well as around 100 signboards and 20 life rings.
Seven parking lots for automobiles and seven parking areas for bicycles have also been set up to bring more convenience to people who drive or ride to the corridor.
A total of 21 individual buildings providing services spanning catering, retail, lavatories and security are available along the corridor to provide better services for people. More businesses will be introduced by June to meet the diverse needs of locals.
High viewing platforms were also built, allowing locals to watch the local birdlife or gaze far into the distance.
In October 2020, Guangzhou released an overall planning strategy for the environment from 2019 to 2035, which proposes that the city will build 2,000 kilometers of such ecological corridors over the next 15 years.
