The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) construction command office unveiled a plaque on Dec 31, marking the official launch of the countdown until the full completion of the construction.
It is scheduled that the construction for the Guangzhou campus of HKUST will be finished by March 31, 2022.
The construction command office was created to integrate the advantages of different stakeholders including the HKUST itself, construction units and local government departments, in order to realize the professional management of the construction.
Being the first independent legal entity under the cooperation of the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong after the unveiling of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area outline development plan, HKUST (Guangzhou) has been designed to push forward communication in culture and education in the Greater Bay Area and increase Nansha's overall strength in higher education.
