GAC Toyota wins national honor for green manufacturing

GAC Toyota from Guangzhou's Nansha district was listed among the fifth bath of green manufacturing factories by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in November, being the only automobile factory in Guangdong province to win the national honor.

The green manufacturing factories refer to those realizing the intensification of land use, using harmless raw materials, being clean in production, recycling waste, as well as achieving low-carbon energy consumption. 

GAC Toyota, which is the first leading automobile company in Nansha district to achieve an industrial cluster at the 100 billion yuan ($15.36 billion) level, has been insisting on the green development concept to establish a green manufacturing factory that is friendly to the environment.

The factory has invested 990 million yuan in environmental protection measures. It has conducted a total of 158 renovation projects in energy-saving technology in 2019, saving 937 metric tons of standard coal, while the energy consumption for each product has been decreased to 3.3 GJ.

In addition, it has introduced advanced manufacturing equipment for stricter atmospheric pollutants management, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 30 tons every year.
