The 2020 Nansha International Talents Conference is scheduled to take place in Nansha on Dec 14, officials announced during a press conference held on Dec 10.
This year's event will be divided into four parts, including the main conference, road shows, and matchmaking fairs. It will be held both online and offline to further promote its event to viewers from home and abroad.
Documents like Nansha's preferential policies for international talents and the international talent demand list will be released during the conference.
It is expected that the demand list will cover more than 6,000 job vacancies from local universities, scientific research institutes, and major companies, including the Guangzhou campus of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the Guangzhou Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Pony.ai.
The Guangzhou campus of HKUST will kick off its first global recruitment during the event, with the goal of employing 400 post doctorate and research assistant professors, as well as 800 administrative staff members.
Outstanding experts will also be invited to deliver speeches and participate in the roundtable conferences during the event, including Ding Hong, chief scientist of the Institute of Physics of CAS, and Wu Jiang, former director of the Chinese Academy of Personnel Science.
