Huawei, Nansha team to build AI innovation center

Huawei has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Guangzhou's Nansha district on Dec 2 to build an innovation center on artificial intelligence (AI).

According to the agreement, cooperation will be carried out by both sides in areas spanning establishing AI cloud service platforms in Nansha, conducting demonstrative applications of AI and the industrial internet, as well as building a cluster for AI industries and cultivating talents. 

The AI industry has been one of the strategic emerging industries that Nansha has devoted great efforts to develop in recent years. At present, the district is home to more than 230 AI companies with independent core technologies, such as Cloudwalk and Pony.ai.

The cooperation with Huawei is expected to push forward the innovative development of AI companies in Nansha, making contributions to the project of turning Nansha into a national pioneer in the AI industry.
