The bus terminal station on Lingshan Island in Guangzhou's Nansha district won the identification certificate for being a nearly zero energy building during the 7th National Near Zero Energy Building Conference from Nov 18 to 19.

The terminal station, which has an overall building area of 1,365 square meters, is the first of its kind as a nearly zero energy bus terminal station in Guangzhou. It will be the departure stop for three bus lines.

The designation for nearly zero energy buildings has strict requirements on energy conservation. The design concept of the building has to be able offer a comfortable indoor environment with minimum energy consumption through initiatives like reducing energy consumption demands in heating, air conditioning, and lighting, as well as increasing energy system efficiency.

The comprehensive energy conservation rate of the station is estimated to reach 86.29 percent, with a renewable energy utilization rate of 77 percent, according to the calculation made by international mainstream energy consumption simulation software.
