Nansha-made household robots popular on global markets

Guangdong Bona Robot Co Ltd -- the manufacturer and exporter of robot vacuum cleaners – is currently working on the construction of a robot industrial park with support from the local government, local officials said.

The company, headquartered in the Nansha district of Guangzhou will develop a new brand of its product range in the park, they added.

The current plant covers a total area of 30,000 square meters and mainly produces cleaning service robots such as household sweeping robots and window cleaning robots. To date, Bona Robot has entered markets in 45 countries around the world with more than 60 brands. 

Last year Bona Robot produced 1.2 million units with an overall value of $73 million, ranking top in China in terms of original design manufacturer (ODM) export volume.

It is expected that the estimated sales volume of the company in the upcoming five years will reach 10 million.

"Nansha is located at the center of the Pearl River Delta and the biggest advantage of the PRD is that we can find a lot of suppliers here for flexible manufacturing," said Wang Lilei, chairman of Bona Robot.
