Guangzhou's Nansha district will build underground ring roads spanning 2.66 kilometers and a 71,400 square meter underground space in Hengli Island to relieve local transportation pressure.
With an overall investment of around 7.5 billion yuan ($1.13 billion), the project will achieve the effective separation of pedestrians and vehicles, offering important support for the construction of an international financial cluster in the Pearl Bay.
The main road of the underground ring roads will have a designated speed of 20 km per hour, while a one-way two-lane branch stretching around 1.92 km linking the permanent site of the IFF will also be built, with a designated speed of 20 km/h.
A total of 30 connectors will be set up alongside the ring ways, connecting areas like nearby underground parking lots and tunnels.
