The 12th Mazu Cultural Tourism Festival opened on Oct 30 in Nansha Tianhou Palace and lasted until Nov 1.
The festival was held by Guangzhou Nansha Assets Operation Co Ltd under the guidance of the Nansha culture, radio, TV, tourism and sports bureau.
Rich travel experiences were given to visitors as they were able to get a close look at the intangible cultural heritages in Nansha, as well as visit the innovative fairs and buy cultural creative products related to Mazu culture at Nansha Tianhou Palace.
A painting and calligraphy exhibition, as well as a photography competition were also unveiled on Oct 30 and will last until Nov 29. The public collection of exhibits for the exhibition started earlier this year, themed around public unity in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Another highlight of this year's event was the second Mazu cultural forum, which invited experts and scholars to carry out discussions on pressing issues like the role and function of Mazu culture in the construction of the Belt and Road.
