The construction of the Mingzhuwan Bridge in Guangzhou's Nansha district is seeing good progress, entering the stage of the cantilever erection of steel beams for the bridge's main span on Sept 29.

The main span of the bridge has now reached 436 meters, creating a new world record.

It is expected that the bridge will be connected before the Spring Festival next year, and the inner ring of the bridge will start operation before June next year.

The Mingzhuwan Bridge, an important traffic artery in Nansha's Pearl Bay, has been considered a major transportation hub project and a landmark in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Temporary sling towers have been built to stabilize the bridge during the construction of the main span. The tower is 100 meters in height and can stand typhoons at level 13.
