The launching ceremony of Nansha's series of activities to celebrate this year's National Science Popularization Day was held in Guangzhou (Nansha) Children's Palace on Sept 20.

This year's event has set up one main venue, as well as seven sub venues around the district.

Various kinds of performances were staged during the opening ceremony, such as fixed-wing model aircraft performances, robot shows, an unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) exhibition, and virtual reality experiences, attracting great attention.

A special exhibition on COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control was set up at the main venue, showcasing the latest technologies and products by Nansha companies in areas including the research and development of new medicines, high-end medical apparatus and instruments, as well as biotechnologies.

During this year's event, activities related to modern agriculture will be held, such as exhibitions, trainings, and experiences.

On Sept 25, modern agricultural technology experiences will allow participants to get a close look at farmlands and try out new things like planting vegetables.

A forum will be held at Guangzhou (Nansha) Children's Palace on Sept 26 will invite scholars and experts in areas spanning biomedicine, aerospace, archaeology, and bird ecology to share their stories with locals.
