Guangzhou's Nansha district entered the list for China's top 100 districts in 2020, according to a report on the high quality development of China's urban districts released by CCID Consulting on Sept 10.

CCID Consulting, which is under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, is China's first listed consulting company.

Nansha has seen rapid economic growth as its regional gross domestic product reached 79.53 billion yuan ($11.64 billion) in the first half of 2020, increasing by 0.3 percent year-on-year.

The district has ranked in the forefront among all districts in Guangzhou in terms of its fixed-asset investment, general public budget revenue, as well as the growth rate of its total import and export value in the first seven months of 2020.

A total of 24,000 new companies have registered to be set up in Nansha from January to July. The district has introduced 11 projects invested in by Fortune 500 companies, while 193 major projects have signed to settle down or started construction in the first seven months of the year, involving an overall investment of nearly 450 billion yuan.

The Nansha area of the Guangdong (China) Pilot Free Trade Zone has thoroughly pushed forward the reform of government functions, making 172 new institutional innovations.
