Guangzhou's Nansha district successfully made the list of China's top 100 happiest county-level cities (districts) in 2020, ranking 27th.

The list was jointly released by Xiaokang Magazine, relevant national professional departments, and professional institutions.

In addition, the district was listed as one of the top 10 happiest county-level cities (districts) in China in 2019 during the evaluation by Oriental Outlook Weekly and Liaowang Think Tank.

Nansha has seen massive changes in its local landscape with many landmarks being put into operation like the new Nansha Library, the new Guangzhou Nansha Children's Palace, as well as the ecological corridor at Haibin Road.

The district has introduced high-quality education resources to further increase its education level. Four new schools started operation on Aug 27, including the Nansha Experimental School of the Affliated High School of Guangzhou University and the Nansha Special Education School.

Efforts have been made in attracting high-end medical resources as the district has been accelerating the construction of local hospitals, such as the Nansha branch of Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center and the Nansha Hospital of Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital.

Nansha has also pushed forward the construction of major transportation projects to establish a "half-hour traffic circle" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
