Located in Nansha's Pearl Bay, the new Guangzhou Nansha Children's Palace was put into official operation on July 28.

Configurations in the palace will be further improved and teaching activities are expected to be carried out in the new venue by September.

The new venue boasts 68 classrooms and several special areas for different functions, such as theaters, libraries, and lecture halls. It covers an overall area of 6,087 square meters and a building area of 56,258 sq m. The overall design of the palace's main structure applied marine elements and the exterior of the palace is shaped like a starfish.

A library decorated with marine elements in the new palace currently possesses a collection of nearly 4,000 picture books, of which 2,000 of them are in English.

Different exhibitions will be held at the exhibition area on marine nature to let children learn more about ocean and environmental protection through audio-visual presentations.

The three-floor Starfish Theater in the palace has 800 seats and is currently the best theater at the district level in Guangdong province in terms of its complete facilities and comprehensive sense of experiences.

A relevant person in charge said that the new venue of Guangzhou Nansha Children's Palace will strive to become a first-class youth cultural communication center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
