Guangzhou has released the second batch of roads for the open testing of intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs) on July 24, the Guangzhou Intelligent Connected Vehicle Pilot Zone Operations Center announced.

The second batch includes 34 roads covering both urban main roads and urban secondary trunk roads, spanning an overall length of 89.65 kilometers, of which 74.1 km of the roads are in Nansha district.

Currently, the length of roads for open testing is 135.3 km, of which 90.7 km are located in Nansha, accounting for nearly 70 percent of the total number and ranking first in road length among all districts in Guangzhou.

In recent years, Guangzhou has been devoting great efforts to support the sound and rapid development of the ICV industry.

By July, Guangzhou has clustered several leading companies in autonomous driving and has issued approvals to 22 vehicles from four companies.
