Wen Xiang Long, a salvage vessel constructed by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co Ltd (CSSCHPS) in Guangzhou's Nansha district, successfully conducted its sea trial and returned to CSSC Guangzhou Longxue Shipbuilding Base on July 14.

The salvage vessel, built for the Guangzhou Salvage Bureau, is China's first domestically developed self-propelled jack up rescue and salvage engineering ship.

The sea trial of Wen Xiang Long marked a big step forward in China's salvage service.

The vessel has four piles and each pile is 90 meters in height. Each pile has a maximum lifting capacity of 5,600 metric tons.

With the help of these piles, the vessel can be firmly fixed at the operation site and can work at a depth of up to 50 meters.

The working area of the deck is about 2,800 square meters and the vessel is able to carry 220 people. A helicopter platform with a diameter of 22 meters is also built on the vessel, enabling large helicopters to land on it.
