Scientific expedition team sets sail from Nansha

The scientific expedition team of Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou) set sail on July 6 to carry out a geological structure study of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou) was set up in November 2018 in Guangzhou's Nansha district and has collaborated with renowned partners like Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Southern University of Science and Technology.

The whole study will last about 20 days and will cover around 5,000 kilometers. It is expected that the study will showcase the underground three-dimensional structure to better serve the infrastructure in the Greater Bay Area.
