Nansha tops Guangzhou for air quality in June

Guangzhou's Nansha district was first among all districts in the city for air quality in June, according to the statistics released by the Guangzhou municipal ecological environment bureau on July 6.

The city has seen remarkable improvements in air quality as the ratio of good air quality days of Guangzhou has increased by 6.7 percent year-on-year to 100 percent in June.

Guangzhou's PM2.5 density went down by 25 percent year-on-year to 12 microns in diameter in June, while the PM10 density decreased by 13.3 percent year-on-year to 26 microns in diameter.

Nansha has ranked first in both air quality and air quality improvement among all districts in June, taking the place of Conghua district, which previously had the best air quality.

The district also ranked third after Conghua and Zengcheng districts in terms of the composite index of ambient air quality in the first half of 2020.
