Guangzhou has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with iFLYTEK Co Ltd on June 28 to carry out all-around cooperation to boost the development of digital new infrastructure in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Cooperation will cover eight areas, including education, medicine, business, as well as platforms for the opening-up and innovation of artificial intelligence.

Both sides will team up to build a smart voice service platform on African languages with the help of the iFLYTEK South China Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, which was set up in Nansha in 2018.

Applications integrating AI and medicine on the basis of 5G technologies will be carried out as demonstrations in Haizhu and Nansha districts.

The company will help Guangzhou in its urban construction and management through AI, establishing various AI systems with scientific institutes in the country featuring automatic speech recognition, urban data analysis, and optical symbol recognition.

In addition, the company will make contributions to Guangzhou's efforts in becoming a national demonstration zone for smart education.
