New vegetable varieties debut in Nansha

The 19th Guangzhou Expo of New Vegetable Varieties, as well as the second Guangzhou Nansha (International) Expo of New Vegetable Varieties, was held in Guangzhou's Nansha district from May 25 to 26.

The event was undertaken by the Guangzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the agriculture and rural affairs bureau of Nansha district, as well as the Guangzhou Seed Association.

Themed around the display of new vegetable varieties, the event included a variety of activities, such as themed photography, quality seed trade, product display, as well as educational activities.

This year's event covered an overall area of 300 mu (20 hectares), of which 50 mu were for greenhouses. 

The event welcomed a total of 79 companies participating in it, displaying 1,234 new vegetable varieties in areas likes melon vegetables, leaf vegetables, and solanaceous vegetables.

At present, eight articles published via WeChat have been released, allowing those purchasers who weren't able to attend the event due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) to get the latest information on the new vegetable varieties.
