Nansha companies rewarded for achievements in IP development

A total of 30 companies in Nansha have won a reward of 11 million yuan ($1.55 million) for their achievements in developing intellectual property, according to the list released by the Nansha market supervision bureau on April 27.

One of the projects, which won a reward of 300,000 yuan, was for an operation institute on patent protection assistance and the other 29 were for the industrialization of patents.

The application process for the reward started in October 2019 and attracted 49 projects from 47 local companies and institutes.

Nansha has devoted great efforts in deepening reform in IP in recent years. The area has applied for 33,277 patents since its establishment five years ago, with an annual average growth of 52.8 percent, while the number of patent authorization has reached 17,275, with an annual average growth of 86.5 percent.

Nansha has seen an overall application for 86,293 trademarks, increasing by 86.5 percent on average year-on-year.
