The Nansha area of the Guangdong (China) Pilot Free Trade Zone has been a pioneer in legal construction in China since it was established five years ago, making innovative measures to better serve the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road Initiative.
It was the first to invite mediators and mediation organizations from Hong Kong and Macao, as well as the first to launch a commercial pluralistic mediation platform.
The number of companies registered in Nansha has continued to increase since the establishment of Nansha FTZ and the number of commercial disputes has also seen continuous growth.
The Nansha FTZ court handled a total of 20,318 new cases in 2019 compared to 9,944 new cases in 2015.
"The court only handled about 20 to 30 commercial disputes before the establishment of Nansha FTZ, yet the number has reached over 30 a month at present," said Sun Hao, the chief judge from the Nansha FTZ court.
The court implemented regulations for the proof and authentication of electronic evidence in July 2018 at a time when internet technology was booming.
"The release of the regulation can help the concerned parties provide electronic evidence meeting the requirements at one time, increasing the efficiency for both proof and trial," added Sun.
