In Guangzhou, the last six local confirmed patients were discharged from hospital on the morning of July 8, marking the clearance of all the local confirmed cases reported from the recent outbreak that started in May.
The Macao SAR announced on July 8 to loosen border control with the neighboring Guangdong province in the mainland, given the improving COVID-19 epidemic situation in Guangdong.
