As of Dec 17, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport's annual passenger throughput has exceeded 80 million for the first time, with international passenger traffic surpassing 16.6 million. This milestone marks a substantial enhancement of the airport's status as an international aviation hub.

Growth has been driven by the synergistic effects of major sporting events, large-scale exhibitions, and the cultural tourism economy, along with continuous optimization of the airport's operational systems. During key events, the airport provided dedicated support services and attracted high-end business travelers by serving major exhibitions, such as the Canton Fair. In collaboration with cultural and tourism authorities, the airport launched "air-travel" packages to achieve targeted passenger engagement.

Under these combined drivers, international traffic increased by more than 19 percent year over year, with daily cargo and mail processing exceeding 6,600 metric tons. The airport efficiently managed an average of over 1,500 daily flights.

Infrastructure upgrades have laid a solid foundation for this passenger growth. In 2025, the commissioning of Terminal 3 and the fourth and fifth runways established a new operational configuration of three terminals and five runways.

Currently, Baiyun Airport offers connectivity to over 100 international and regional destinations. Since the beginning of this year, nearly 40 international passenger routes have been opened, increased in frequency, or resumed, further strengthening its global reach.
