The goalball test event for the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games commenced at the Guangzhou Disabled Sports Center.

Goalball was initially created as a rehabilitation activity for veterans who lost their sight in World War II and has since evolved into an international sport included in the Paralympic Games.

The competition featured four teams: the Guangdong goalball team 1, Guangdong goalball team 2, the Guangzhou Qiming school senior high team, and the Guangzhou Qiming school vocational high team. Twenty athletes competed in the newly renovated venue.

Guangdong Goalball Team 1 claimed the championship, with the Guangzhou Qiming senior high team finishing as the runner-up. Guangdong Goalball Team 2 and the Guangzhou Qiming school vocational high team tied in third place.

Guangdong Goalball Team Player Xiong Ziyang said, "In this competition, we performed well and showed our training level. We are in good form. Next, we will fully prepare for the next stage of the competition and strive for better results."
