Torch ignites public passion for National Games
The Guangzhou Organizing Committee for the 15th National Games and Paralympic Games held a promotional exhibition of the torch and sacred flame at Yunluo Botanical Garden in Baiyun district on Oct 16. This marked the first time the flame – collected on Oct 9 in Nansha – was showcased to residents of Baiyun up close.

Nearly 200 attendees waved national flags at the Kapok Terrace during the event. When the torch, named "Blooming", arrived, the crowd erupted into thunderous applause, with many capturing the moment on their phones. Tai Chi and Wing Chun performances added a distinctive cultural ambiance to the ceremony.
Xu Bin, deputy director of the Torch Special Team, emphasized that selecting iconic venues for the exhibition aimed to let citizens personally experience the charm of the Games.
The torch's design carries profound symbolism: its "sparkling fireworks" shape represents the pioneering and innovative spirit of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The core concepts of integration and prosperity reflect both the shared Lingnan cultural roots of the three regions and their collaborative development under the principle of "one country, two systems".
