The 14th Zhengxian's Birthday Cultural Tourism Week and the 2nd Guangzhou Park Cultural and Creative Festival will open on Sept 16 at the Mingchungu Scenic Area in Baiyun Mountain.

The revered "First Immortal of Guangzhou, Zhengxian", has a storied history that spans over 1,600 years. This year's commemorative event, with a central theme of wellness, incorporates three elements: the preservation and celebration of intangible cultural heritage, the promotion of dynamic sports activities, and the enhancement of park cultural creativity.

Event highlights include the opening ceremony unveiling an online cultural platform and three unique experiences; a wellness forum featuring experts in intangible heritage and healthcare discussing health topics; the Lingnan Storytelling Stage bringing Baiyun Mountain poetry to life in Cantonese; a family hiking activity exploring medicinal plants; a public mountain climbing event in anticipation of the National Games; the innovative "Five-Sense Healing" wellness trail; and the introduction of collectible and practical Zhengxian gifts and the special Zhengxian banquet.

This event combines ancient traditions with modern innovations, preserving the intangible cultural heritage of Zhengxian's medicinal practices while promoting contemporary wellness concepts, offering residents a cultural celebration that spans thousands of years.
