Guangzhou's Baiyun district is set for a major healthcare upgrade with the construction project of the Guangdong Provincial Center for Skin Diseases and STIs Control · The Ninth Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University (Southern Medical University Dermatology Hospital Baiyun Campus) about to commence bidding, with a total investment of 653.44 million yuan ($90.96 million).

Located in the Baiyun Lake Digital Tech City, the project covers 78.81 mu (5.25 hectares), will feature 800 patient beds, and is expected to be completed by 2028.

As the first tertiary-grade hospital in the Baiyun Lake area, it will adopt a "strong specialty + refined comprehensive care" model, focusing on dermatology and medical cosmetology while integrating multidisciplinary support systems. The facility will include outpatient-emergency buildings, inpatient departments, and research centers, fully incorporating smart medical technologies to establish an intelligent health management platform.

The new campus will fill a gap in northwest Baiyun's high-quality medical resources, creating a 15-minute healthcare service circle. As a key part of Southern Medical University's strategic expansion, the hospital will not only provide clinical services but also undertake public health prevention functions, achieving integrated medical and preventive care.

The project is expected to elevate regional healthcare standards, allowing residents to access top-tier hospital services close to home.
