The Baiyun-Wuchuan Industrial Collaboration Joint Investment Promotion Conference has opened at Guangzhou Design Capital and will run until Aug 31.

The event opened on Aug 28 with a launch ceremony for Wuchuan's intangible cultural heritage experiences and agricultural product brand. Representatives from local governments and enterprises signed seven cooperation projects, totaling 2.52 billion yuan ($353.39 million), that focus on characteristic industries such as down feathers, footwear, mooncakes, and prepared dishes, promoting regional collaborative development.

Wuchuan's regional agricultural brand, Wuchuan Youli, was launched, with the first batch of 12 enterprises authorized to use the brand. These enterprises cover sectors including aquatic products, grain and oil, baking, and biotechnology.

Intangible cultural heritage performances were a highlight of the event's opening, with the Wuchuan suspension show, a national-level intangible heritage, attracting crowds with its aerial performances. At the same time, Cantonese opera, puppet shows, clay sculpting experiences, and demonstrations by master Cantonese chefs drew widespread participation.

The food exhibition area showcased a giant grouper weighing over 50 pounds, oversized mooncakes, and 10 famous local dishes, while the cultural tourism promotion section introduced multiple discounted travel packages.

The event will continue with two additional suspension show performances. This collaboration marks a new institutionalized phase of industrial cooperation between Baiyun and Wuchuan, with future efforts aimed at deepening integration in smart manufacturing, the food industry, and cultural tourism.
