Huacheng Art Museum launches immersive cultural tourism experience
Huacheng Art Museum in Yunxi Botanical Garden has launched a series of surprises this summer.
The museum, known as the "white pearl" of this botanical garden oasis, was awarded the 2024 Architecture MasterPrize (APM). Its exterior blends with the mountain landscape, while a spiral staircase integrates the structure into the surrounding forest.
Inside features six exhibitions that narrate the millennia-old cultural heritage of Guangzhou through a dual storytelling approach. The exhibition focuses on Lingnan floral stories, recreating the bustling scene of the historic West Lake Flower Market.
It offers an in-depth cultural experience ranging from traditional flower arrangements and carvings to modern floral installations and digital art, showcasing the "floral legends of Lingnan". Through moss art and floral paintings, it also presents a vivid vision of this "flower city in bloom".

The art museum has introduced a lotus-themed series of summer desserts, including tofu pudding shaped like peonies, green grape jelly with lotus leaf motifs, and ice cream. It also offers Xihongshan Cold Brew Tea – a blend of Yinghong No 9 black tea cold-brewed using whiskey-inspired techniques – preserving the tea's aroma while reducing bitterness.
By blending architectural aesthetics, cultural exhibitions, and culinary innovation, the museum has become a new cultural landmark where visitors can enjoy art, admire lotus flowers, and savor tea.
