The Guangdong Canoe Slalom Invitational and the 15th National Games Test Event kicked off on Aug 23 to 24 at the Guangdong Slalom Course in Guangzhou's Baiyun district. The event adheres to the standards of the National Games, aiming to test the venue's organizational capabilities, and has attracted 97 top athletes from 25 teams across the country.

The competition features six events: single kayak, single canoe, and extreme kayak, in both men's and women's categories. Extreme kayak, known for its intense competition and high spectator appeal, is a highlight of the event.

On the first day, four individual events took place, where athletes navigated an 18-gate course on a turbulent 225-meter track, thoroughly testing their physical fitness, technique, and adaptability. Medals were awarded in each category, with athletes from provinces such as Guizhou, Sichuan, and Guangdong delivering outstanding performances.

This event not only serves as a crucial stage for athletes to assess their training results but also as an important opportunity to adapt to the venue and the National Games environment. The Guangdong Canoe Slalom Course, with its natural water flow conditions and international-standard track design, ensures high-quality competitions.
