On Aug 3, Layered Green Peaks, a well-known ecological and cultural landmark in Guangzhou, was once again chosen as one of the 2025 Eight Scenic Spots of Guangzhou. This highlights its distinctive charm, combining ancient urban heritage with natural beauty.

The scenic area comprises Baiyun Mountain, Yunxi Botanical Garden, and Yunluo Botanical Garden. Often called the most beautiful mountain in Guangzhou, Baiyun Mountain's main peak, Moxing Ridge, rises to 382 meters and is renowned for its stunning views, described as "mountain overlooking the city, city embracing the mountain". Its air quality meets China's Class I standards and boasts very high negative oxygen ion levels, earning it the nickname "Green Lung of the City".

Baiyun Mountain, now designated as a National 5A-level Scenic Area, along with the newly developed Yunxi and Yunluo Botanical Gardens, creates an ecological network with 95 percent greenery coverage and abundant biodiversity, exemplifying Guangzhou's ecological achievements. A 20-kilometer green corridor and numerous hiking trails link fitness activities with natural experiences, helping Guangzhou earn the title of "China's Most Ecologically Competitive City" multiple times.

As the 15th National Games draw near, Layered Green Peaks will stand out as a major highlight, presenting Guangzhou's allure to visitors nationwide.
