Test flight marks success of Guangzhou airport's 5th runway
A China Southern Airlines Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft made a smooth landing on Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport's fifth runway on July 30, marking the completion of on-site verification test flights for the runway and laying the foundation for its operation.
The test flight lasted five hours and six minutes, validating the relevant facilities and flight procedures of the runway.
The fifth runway (East Runway 3) is part of the airport's Phase III expansion project. It is located 1,530 meters east of East Runway 2, with a length of 3,600 meters and a width of 45 meters, capable of accommodating the takeoff and landing of large Category E aircraft.
Once operational, it will enhance the support and efficiency of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
