Guangzhou Metro has introduced a flexible station opening policy to address the time gap between the metro stations' regular opening hours and the early-morning railway train schedules, as well as the increase in waiting passengers after the upgrading of Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station.

The metro has implemented a "flexible station opening" service at Guangzhou Baiyun Metro Station and Shitan Metro Station, which are adjacent to Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station. These two stations will open 10-15 minutes earlier each day, depending on passenger flow, making it convenient for travelers arriving in or leaving Guangzhou.
