On July 18, the 17th World Dragon Boat Championship was held at Lake Beetzsee in Brandenburg, Germany.

The Baiyun Renhe Dragon Boat Team from Guangzhou clinched victory in the 200-meter straight-line sprint 12-person dragon boat race, Open Category A, with an outstanding time of 49.86 seconds. Following their success of two gold and one silver in 2023, they once again showcased the formidable strength and unique charm of Chinese dragon boating at this top-tier global event.

The championship featured 33 countries and regions along with nearly 4,500 athletes, 289 of whom were part of the Chinese delegation. Amidst fierce competition, the Baiyun Renhe Dragon Boat Team emerged victorious by a slim margin of 0.14 seconds, displaying remarkable prowess.

In preparation for this event, the team trained daily and rigorously selected 16 members with an average age of 46.

Luo Jianfeng, president of the Renhe Dragon Boat Association, stated that their participation in this competition is a recognition of the competitive level of the Renhe Dragon Boat Team.
