Guangzhou Private Science, Technology Park celebrates 30th anniversary
This year, the Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park celebrates its 30th anniversary since its establishment.
Established in 1995, the park was the first private science and technology park at the national level. Over the last thirty years, it has grown into a dynamic center for private sector development within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The park currently hosts over 7,000 private companies, covering only 0.7 percent of Baiyun district's land area, yet they produce more than half of the district's industrial output. In 2024, its operating income surpassed 220 billion yuan ($30.69 billion), reflecting a 13.7 percent annual increase and maintaining double-digit growth for eight straight years.
Reflecting on its development history, Guangzhou identified the private science and technology park as a key innovation hub in 2009 and provided initial "seed funding" for its infrastructure growth.
In 2021, the park gained a major opportunity by being designated as the "National Federation of Industry and Commerce's Demonstration Base for Technological Innovation in Private Enterprises". This led to the creation of a new framework of "one core area and three industrial parks" and a credit line of 10.5 billion yuan to fund its continued growth.
Today, the park's modern headquarters building blends with rich ecological landscapes. Smart streetlights are arranged in rows, sponge-like roads meander through the area, and a well-connected transportation network seamlessly links the park to the economic hub of the Greater Bay Area.
As the main development platform for the "One Park, Two Towns, Three Capitals and Four Zones" initiative in Baiyun, the future prospects of the Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park appear very promising.
